Celeb Twitter Round-Up: Mzansi Celebs Nominated for Major Award

The nominations are in, and four South Africans are up for “African Social Star” at the People’s Choice Awards 2022!

On Thursday, 27 October, the nominations for the “African Social Star” category were revealed:

As you can see, folks, four homegrown talents have made the cut: “Blood & Water” actress Ama Qamata, businesswoman Shauwn Mkhize, media personality Khanyi Mbau, and actress/influencer Sphokuhle Ntshalintshali.

Also nominated are Ugandan model/TikToker Angella Summer Namubiru, Angolan influencer Juddy da Conceição, Nigerian entertainer Liquorose, and Nigerian fashion designer Swanky Jerry.

Mzansi tweeps are already rooting for their faves, and Qamata is receiving a lot of love:

But both ladies are facing stiff competition from Liquorose, whose fans in SA and the Giant of Africa are voting in droves for her to win:

It appears to be neck-and-neck between South Africa and Nigeria, but fans have under two months to cast as many votes as possible before the winner is announced on 6 December 2022. Good luck to the nominees!
